Certain projects take a long time to substantiate, and as for a good wine, all the necessary conditions need to be present for its maturation. Two years ago, „The Ground Floor“ cast their spell on us – a french duo by the names of François Vasseur and Yannick Baltassat. Unlike a great number of electronic music composers, these two compose and arrange their pieces live. François is a „real“ pianist , thus the sessions are recorded in one shot, almost as it was done in the past. They have developed this project during several months, constantly re-recording and re-arranging. They’ve been tweaking this project until the very last minute. We don’t think it is necessary to use words to describe what this music unfolds naturally. We invite you to dive into this Canal EP the best way there is, fresh and without bias.You will also find the very complementary remixes by David Durango, 9west and Prisme, masterly and respectful visions of the project: just what you should be able to expect from a rework.We have the honor to share this Canal EP with you, and we hope you’ll enjoy it.

Certains projets mettent longtemps à se mettre en place, comme un bon vin, il faut les conditions nécessaires à sa maturation. Il y'a deux ans, nous sommes tombés sous le charme de 'The Ground Floor', duo originaire de France, composé de François Vasseur et de Yannick Baltassat. Contrairement à de nombreux producteurs de musique électronique, ce duo compose et arrange en live, François étant un 'vrai' clavier, les sessions sont enregistrée en one shot, presque à l'ancienne. Ils ont développé ce projet pendant de longs mois. Jusqu'à la dernière minute ils ont essayé de parfaire ce projet. Nous ne croyons pas qu'il soit utile d'étayer par des mots ce que la musique parvient naturellement à démontrer. Nous vous invitons à vous plonger dans ce Canal ep, de la meilleure manière qui soit. Sans appréhension.Vous trouverez également les remixes très complémentaires de David Durango, 9west et Prisme, autant de visions différentes du projet, avec respect et maestria: ce qu'on est en droit d'attendre d'un remix.Nous avons l'immense privilège de pouvoir partager ce Canal ep avec vous.
